Bandy

Bandy is a team winter sport played on ice, in which skaters use sticks to direct a ball into the opposing team's gate. The sport has common background with association football, ice hockey and field hockey. Like football, the game is normally played in halves of 45 minutes each, there are eleven players in each team, and the bandy field is about the same size as a football one. It is played on ice like ice hockey, but just like in field hockey, players use bowed sticks and a small ball.

Development of world bandy is carried out under the direction of the International Federation of bandy (FIB). It includes 33 national federations, among them there is the Federation of Russian Bandy (FRB). FRB unites 46 republican, regional federations and offices.

39 teams from 21 subjects of the Russian Federation and one Kazakhstan team play in the Super League and the Highest League of the Championship of Russia.

There are two professional teams: SKA-Neftyanik and SKA-Neftyanik-2 in Khabarovsk Krai. Children and teenagers, amateur athletes, veterans are engaged in this sport actively. The championship of Khabarovsk Krai, the championship of Khabarovsk, game of open amateur league, a number of competitions among children, teenagers and young men, tournaments for teams of veterans, floorball tournaments and other competitions are held under the direction of Federation of bandy of Khabarovsk Krai annually.
